Luke 1:3-4 - so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught

Praise the Lord

Therefore, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught

We all have different needs when it comes to believing in God. Some people are just looking for miracles, but others need more evidence. Luke wrote his gospel for such a person. As a physician, Luke wrote with classic historical form. He was not writing a story, he was documenting what happened! In God’s love for His humanity, He has provided ample ways to know how He has reached out to us. We just have to take the time to look. If we do, we can start to have the same certainty that they did back then.
