Matthew 6:14-15 - if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you

Praise the Lord

For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins

As we remember the events that occurred on 9/11, we do well to also remember our obligation as Christians to forgive those who have sinned against us. Can we, as the people of God, forgive those who attacked us? To forgive those who we agree with is nothing extraordinary, but to forgive those with whom we have differences displays the nature of God. When we rebelled against God’s rule, He sent His Son to forgive us. Now, as those who owe a debt to God that we cannot pay, we are obligated to extend the same mercy to others. Forgiveness proclaims that justice belongs to God and therefore frees us to call upon his mercy for ourselves
